I bought her from
an elderly couple who were the original owners since new. I fitted a mild
1600 to her with a 5 speed gear box after a couple of months of driving
an auto made me want more power. I replaced all front end components which
included:
Nolathane rubbers for all suspension components, re-con steering rack
with nolathane mounts and steering coupling, whiteline oversized swaybar,
new bearings, seals, ball joints, DBA cross drilled and slotted discs,
re-built calipers, stainless steel braided lines, lowered kingsprings,
Monroe GT gas shocks.
For the rear I have lowered kingsprings, oversized Whiteline swaybar,
Monroe GT gas shocks, new shoes and cylinders.
The 1600 blew a head gasket so i decided to spend some of my hard earned
on a new motor. Bought a G200 from a 1984 jackaroo from U-pull it in adelaide
and set about re-building it.
Had the block decked and bored, then painted, new oversize pistons and
rings, full crank grind, all new bearings and gaskets, fresh faced head
with oversize valves, new welch plugs, new waterpump, timing chain and
guides, lukey extractors going into a 2 inch system, 2 barrel weber carb
with sports cleaner, DBA heavy duty clutch, new cable, standard TF 5 speed
and standard auto diff.
-brand new starter motor, alternator, battery cables, battery clamps and
regulator.
Interior is fairly standard, (cracked dash etc), has a speco tacho in
the dash where the clock was and a centre conslole from a TE sedan. She
had a pioner 4X50 MP3/WMA deck, two 4" speakers in the front doors,
two 6X9s in the rear passenger panels and two 6X9s in the back, in boxes,
powered by a 250 watt, 2 chanel kenwood amp.
15X6 wheels are from calibra and wear 195/50/15 silverstone rubber.
Coming soon new seats re-trimmed in original interior cloth, better brakes,
power windows, remote shifter from late model TG box, bigger radiator
and thermo fans. |
