RB to sell as a whole car or wreck for parts?

My nephews little RB SL failed its roadworthy due to a rusty exhaust.The quote for a new one was more than he wants to pay. He has been told he will get more for the parts than if he sells the complete car. Would this be right? Its a 1985 SL with around 200,000 ks. Well maintained except for the exhaust and has the five mags. Any guidance is welcome. Ta.

You could try posting it for sale as a whole car first on one of these sites as well as here.

Failing it selling as a complete car at the price you want then try selling it in parts. As a parts car it will probably be fairly slow to sell.
